His journey commenced in 1957 when he made his initial appearance on an amateur television program. However, it wasn't until the 1960s that he truly embraced his musical career as a professional, beginning in his father's orchestra.

As his journey unfolded, Pedrito's exceptional vocal talents found their place in various musical groups.

Notable among them were "La Riviera," "Los Jóvenes del Filin," and "La Orquesta de Julio Valdés." However, his destiny took a transformative turn when he joined forces with Juan Formell y Los Van Van, a partnership that would span nearly three decades.
